WHO WAS SAMMY D?
Samuel John Davis was just 17 years old when he was fatally king hit in an unprovoked attack in Adelaide’s CBD in 2008. Out of unimaginable grief, his family turned their loss into a legacy, founding the Sammy D Foundation to ensure no other family would have to experience what they went through.
WHAT THE FOUNDATION DOES
The Sammy D Foundation educates and empowers young people to make safer choices and build communities free from violence. Through evidence-based programs delivered in schools and communities across South Australia, they tackle bullying, violence, and alcohol and drug misuse, reaching over 300,000 young people to date.
WHY GLASARI SUPPORTS THEM
As a registered nurse who works in the police cells, I see first hand what happens when young people don’t get the support and guidance they need. The Sammy D Foundation is doing the work that matters, getting to young people early, before it’s too late.
